Project Description
Aveo Minkara Retirement Resort (Aveo) was seeking to improve the aesthetics of its buildings with hopes of attracting new residents and retaining current ones. A full internal and external repaint of Endeavour Lodge, a four-storey apartment building within the resort, would be key to achieving this objective.
A combination of factors contributed to the decision in choosing Programmed for the job. Programmed’s competitive and in-depth proposal, approach to quality and health and safety, reputation for working in similar environments and a strong existing relationship with Aveo were just a few of the reasons.
Project Solution
Residents attained peace of mind and familiarised themselves with the Programmed team through morning teas at the commencement and during the midway point of the project.
Having a dedicated, full-time foreman on site from start to finish ensured the smooth running and flexibility of works, which was particularly important for high traffic areas, such as the dining room. Programmed also brought in a colour consultant to assist with the paint selection process.
Efficient site traffic and access management alleviated difficulties associated with manoeuvring around the balcony soffits, downpipes, columns, roof and other exterior elevations. A variety of methods, including elevated work platforms and abseil painters, were used to gain access to external surfaces. Repainting resident doors was coordinated with staff to ensure adequate access for residents during the project.
Project Outcome
Retirement Living Manager, Rebecca Wall, expressed her delight with the fresh new look of Endeavour Lodge: “Programmed listened during the initial meeting to discuss the work, addressed the scope of works perfectly and added components the operator had overlooked.”
As a result of the project, resident and staff morale has significantly improved and Aveo Minkara Retirement Resort is hoping to engage Programmed for a larger project on-site very soon.
