In Melbourne’s bayside suburb of Hampton lies Linacre Private Hospital which has served the community since the 1970’s. This outstanding private hospital is part of the Ramsay Health Care Group and is highly regarded by locals.
Project Description
Linacre Private Hospital (Linacre) is a 69 bed facility providing specialist services to the community. As an exceptionally reputable healthcare facility that operates round-the-clock, Linacre needs to maintain a high standard of presentation at all times. Linacre CEO, Austin Wills, had engaged Programmed for other facilities previously and was impressed by our ability to be flexible and accommodating. Knowing a complete repaint inside and out was necessary to retain the hospital building’s appearance, Linacre engaged Programmed for the job.
Project Solution
To deliver the most effective interior and exterior full colour change repaint, Programmed worked closely with Linacre to lay the foundation for a repaint enabling the Hospital to retain its revamped appearance for many years to come.
Apart from a high quality of work and technical expertise, Linacre required the job to be able to meet its stringent environmental and safety standards. Due to the nature of its operating environment, the ability to maintain strict hygiene was critical. The choice of paint, its application and surface preparation would need to ensure minimal impact to the patients and the environment.
Further, as a 24/7 facility, being able to continue operating at full capacity was critical to the hospital. Programmed needed to be flexible and adaptable to the hospital’s requirements and sensitive to the needs of patients and staff. Work was completed out of hours and throughout public holidays to reach otherwise inaccessible areas of the hospital. Close communication with the Nurse Manager was essential to coordinate this access.
With two painting crews working simultaneously on the interior and exterior, Programmed was able to repaint the entire building within a short five week timeframe. The choice of environmentally friendly paint was essential to delivering a solution with strong consciousness around HSEQ requirements. Dulux Aquanamel, known to be low in odour, and ecolour, a non-toxic paint with zero volatile organic compounds (VOCs), was used so Linacre could rest assured there would be no inconvenience or risk to the health of anyone present in the hospital.
Project Outcome
Programmed’s professional work has given the Hospital a fresh and modern look that will continue to be maintained over a long term maintenance programme. Our proven ability and capacity to work within the boundaries of a fully operational healthcare facility – and the ability to meet exacting standards for environmental and safety requirements – has left a great impression on Mr Wills, so much so that he is now looking at other services Programmed has to offer. “It’s such a benefit to partner with a company like Programmed that can provide a one-stop-shop for our maintenance needs.”
