Supplying staff for regional infrastructure grants program

Countrywide

Programmed was engaged by a federal government department to supply staff to support the assessment of the second round of grant funding for a regional infrastructure grants program.

The successful candidates would be working in a secure area and as such, all staff were required to have a current ‘baseline’ clearance for working with government.

Due to the nature of the work and the importance of timing, our customer approached four recruitment suppliers to ensure they would be able to successfully fill all contract vacancies.

Programmed assigned a dedicated account manager to the program to ensure we provided a consistent approach and a single point of contact throughout the recruitment process. Our account manager was responsible for liaising with department representatives to ensure we had a good understanding of what was required from staff through statements of requirements.

Candidates were sourced through our existing network, including contacts from departments with known security requirements. Our account manager then supplied suitable resumes to the contact officer within the program and coordinated interviews within 24 hours of the request being received. Programmed submitted ten resumes for our customer’s consideration, and of those ten, eight were selected for interview and were subsequently successful in gaining a position.

We also supported the departments onboarding requirements by providing reference checks, issuing offers and confirming start dates, arranging for site-specific safety inductions to be completed prior to commencement and liaising with contact officers to set-up timesheets and invoicing to suit our customer’s needs.

For this project, Programmed supplied the highest number of employees of the four agencies approached.

Of the eight candidates that commenced working on the program, six stayed on within the same department or were deployed to other branches to assist with business critical work.
