Programmed on board with Freo’s women’s team
We are excited to announce our two year sponsorship of the women’s Fremantle Dockers team.
At Programmed, we’re advocates for gender equality and opportunity and believe the new women’s team is just that.
Fremantle CEO Steve Rosich thanked Programmed and Woodside for extending their support to include the women’s team.
“Programmed and Woodside were extremely supportive of our bid for a women’s team licence and we are very proud to be the inaugural WA team in the new national women’s league,” Rosich said.
“For both of our major sponsors to now support our women’s team illustrates the significance of this new league and the strength of our partnerships.
“This is an exciting period of time for the club and we look forward to continuing to work with Programmed and Woodside in line with our ongoing commitment to promote and grow women’s football and the national women’s league.”
Programmed managing director Chris Sutherland said Programmed was excited to be at the forefront of driving gender equity in Western Australia.
“We’re sponsoring the Fremantle women’s team to help promote a core message that women can undertake many roles performed mainly by men that provide greater flexibility and deliver financial independence,” Sutherland said.
“Just like women can play AFL, we want young girls to know that they too can become an electrician, IT technician or an engineer.”
