At Programmed Facility Management, we’re committed to finding smarter, more sustainable ways to support our customers and improve service delivery. This drive for innovation recently led to the introduction of a robotic mower at North Shore Memorial Park, a move that’s already delivering clear operational and environmental benefits.
The fully electric, all wheel drive mower has proven especially effective in navigating challenging terrain, including sloped and soft ground. Its autonomous operation means minimal manual input is required from our team, allowing us to schedule and monitor mowing tasks remotely while ensuring consistent and efficient coverage across large areas.
One of the key advantages of using this electric mower is its quiet, zero-emissions operation, a crucial consideration in sensitive environments like cemeteries, where respectful, low impact maintenance is essential. Built in safety features such as obstacle detection, geofencing and automatic shut off provide additional peace of mind when operating near the public or around headstones and monuments.
The efficiencies we’ve seen so far include reduced labour requirements, consistent cut quality and lower operating costs. We’re particularly interested in the mower’s performance during the wetter months, where conventional equipment can struggle with soft or uneven surfaces. We’re also continuing to work closely with the supplier to fine tune the solution for broader commercial use.
This investment aligns with our broader strategy to integrate intelligent technologies into everyday operations, helping customers save time, reduce environmental impact, enhance safety and drive long-term value. It’s another step in our commitment to delivering forward thinking, efficient facility management.
