For over a decade, the Due Drop Events Centre has been at the heart of Auckland’s events scene, hosting a wide variety of events, including exhibits, concerts, conferences, festivals, and more. With more than 2.2 million patrons passing through its doors, the Centre has become a vital and iconic space for the community.
To maintain a world-class experience for every guest, the Centre required a reliable and efficient maintenance solution. The facility needed to remain in pristine condition year after year, ensuring it remained welcoming and functional despite the high volume of events held. Given the unique design of the venue, with its upside-down cone-shaped roof and complex structural elements, specialised maintenance was needed, including abseiling and scaffolding for beam painting and preparation.
Project Solution
Programmed was tasked with creating a customised long-term maintenance plan for the Centre. The plan involved a combination of a full repaint in the first year and annual preventative maintenance for the duration of the plan to keep the venue in top condition despite its constant use.
The maintenance programme is tailored to minimise disruption to the Centre’s event schedule, with Programmed working closely with the Centre’s management team to schedule both the repaint and subsequent maintenance around events. This repaint was the second Programmed had completed for the Due Drop Events Centre, demonstrating the trust and ongoing partnership between both parties.
Project Outcome
The repaint has successfully ensured that the Due Drop Events Centre remains excellent well-presented, while the long-term maintenance programme will help keep the venue in similar condition year after year. The Due Drop Events Centre continues to be a leading space for a wide range of events, and Programmed’s diligent and ongoing efforts have played a key role in preserving the building’s aesthetic appeal and functionality.
