Today, Mark leads the Hobart team, who cares for some of Tasmania’s most sacred sites, including Hobart War Graves, defence facilities, and the Shrine of Remembrance. For him, maintaining these locations isn’t just about landscaping or civil works, it’s about preserving history and honouring personal stories like his own.
Mark believes in leading by example. Each year, he brings his children to place poppies and pay tribute, showing them how to respect the sacrifices made by past generations. His dedication goes beyond personal tradition; it inspires his team to approach their work with the same pride and reverence.
