Programmed New Zealand recently welcomed Chris Hipkins and Megan Woods from the Labour Party to the Auckland War Memorial Domain, where we showcased how innovation, sustainability and people development are helping shape the future of facility management. As one of Auckland’s most iconic public spaces, the site provided an ideal setting to demonstrate Programmed’s capability to deliver innovative solutions in high-profile public environments.
A key focus of the visit was demonstrating our investment in Instagrid portable battery technology distributed by Pacific Diamond Tools NZ, and how these electric power units are being used across our operations. The discussion highlighted the practical benefits of replacing traditional generators with quieter, low-emission alternatives that reduce environmental impact while improving efficiency on site.
The team shared how Instagrid units are particularly valuable in busy public spaces like the Domain, where their low noise and ease of use minimise disruption for visitors, as well as in remote project locations such as the walking tracks on Waiheke Island, where reliable and portable power is essential.
Beyond technology, the visit provided an opportunity to discuss Programmed’s commitment to developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople. Conversations focused on our apprenticeship pathways, our partnership with the Māori and Pacific Trades Training (MPTT) programme, and our ongoing investment in building internal capability by creating opportunities for our people to learn, grow and progress their careers.
The discussion also explored how strong local partnerships contribute to better outcomes for our customers and communities. By working closely with local suppliers, including Amotai suppliers, Programmed has built resilient, long-term relationships that strengthen local capability while supporting customers such as Auckland Council through our systems, expertise and collaborative approach.
The visit was a valuable opportunity to share how innovation, sustainability and investment in people are helping Programmed deliver lasting value for our customers, communities and the industries we support.
